Hi Paul, I really love this kind of energy in the ocean and this capture certainly has that and more. I am looking for that bird and if it is indeed that spec 2/3 down and 2/3 across then "O my God" seriously big waves.. I am hoping next year I shall get down to these regions again with new camera and ideas. Excellent work.

What a rough coast! Those are high waves. (I live by the sea, and I have never seen waves like this here - thank goodness!)
Yes, I can see the bird (very centre, 1/2 inch from the RH side? Just under the spray) Wow, it looks so small!! They have no fear of the water like this.
Awesome shot Paul, I am amazed at the strength and power.

How have you been keeping?
A beautiful shot, with very strong visual impact.
I love the contrast between the misty spray on the left,
and that whopper of a crashing wave on the right.
That crashing wave is magnificent.
The black and white medium really brings out the nuances.

Hi Paul

Well...if it wasn't for the workshop, i would have had big difficulties in finding the gull :))
But seeing that now, i can only imagine the sheer size of these waves and splashes...absolutely impressive!
Again a very "heavy" photo although it consists of some very few elements. I find these huge rocks here amazing as their role of natural barriers in front of the fury of the sea...i'm also a bit impressed that they are still this big considering the erosion they are exposed too :)
As we transfer from solid to liquid, the waves are terrific, too, massive through their size and force as well. They way they reflect the light is also very cool, too. Finally, the vapors also play an important role here in my opinion: they come with a totally different texture for the composition - a more blurry one.
Anyway, it's a fantastic shot, because of all the facts i mentioned about, it still shoes that there is a lot of nature prevailing even in such places.

Hi Paul.
Without WS I could not see the gull. The size of waves is fantastic. I live near the sea but never saw such waves. However, key point is an artiness of the picture. Exposure time is perfect and effect is so impressive. I also like light tones of the image, crisp sharpness and, of course, framing. TFS and kind regards.

Hi Paul,
I'm glad you posted the WS. It does do a lot to understand the awesome scale of these waves. I like the lighting and the silvirish grey tones in this photo a lot. It some how gives a combination of warmth and coldness in one frame.
It must have been the long focal lens that gives the idea that you are only a few feet above sea level.

Holy Cow, you weren't kidding when you say rough seas, I'm glad you put in the workshop as my vision couldn't pick out the gull , I can however see it now that I know where it exatly is. Incrediable shot. I bet the sound was deafening!

Hi Paul!

It's a wonderful picture, so powerful and full of energy. The composition and the light mnagement are perfect and one can almost hear the waves crashing against the rock. I like the frozen movement of the water very much!
