SKULL ISLAND

The Skellig Islands, stand aloof in the Atlantic Ocean about 9 miles from the mainland. Sculpted as if by the hand of God, Little Skellig, Great Skellig, are iconic visions of what islands are all about. Distinctively conical-shape, surrounded by blue swirling seas, these rock islands seem to symbolize world's end. They remind me of Skull Island ever time I see them.

Skull Island is a fictional lost island in the Indian Ocean, first dreamed up for the 1933 adventure film King Kong.

Good parallel and super cool islands. Always liked the tiny ones, islands unlike the girls; tall not fat, lol...

Hi Steve,
Hey, I like the title..but I don't see Kong! So he must've slipped around the other side? ;)
Well composed, with excellent color, detail and exposure..
Great shot!

Beautiful, Steve. I like the subject for the parallel shapes but the contrasting colors (vegetation). I like the clouds behind, and the boat to give it scale. Perfectly rendered, too -- as usual. Just a bit of mist or smoke, but only God can change that!

Hi Stephen,
Mysterious and inhospital looking Islands. They do seem to come out of a dream. Good compo but indeed quite some "noise" in the sky and grain in the water. So I guess that they were far away and you cropped the original?

Hi Steve,

I have seen those Islands lots of time as I am a sailor and we sometimes go to Limerick or Galway, however most of the time there is more swell and seastate than on your shot which is a great compo with good colors, well done and TFS,

Et le festival de beauté continue grâce à Stephen et son beau voyage. Sobre et beau !
Well seen and well done my friend.

Hi Stephen,
very dramatic shot. They look like two mountain tops that are sticking up out of the ocean. They look uninhabitable!! The skies just look like a massive storm may boil up at any time.
Chilling just to look at.

Hello Stephen,
I think these islands were in BG of one of your last pictures. I like theirlook at lot!
Picture is very interesating, I like colours too. What is a little distracting is the noise on the water.
Overall, a lovely post!

Awesome islands! They look so intense. I think new islands, relatively speaking, look so cool. TFS!
