Serapias apulica from Puglia.Endemic to the coast of Puglia from Mount Gargano to Lecce

Description: Thickset and robust 12-25(32)cm tall,base of stem and leaves unmarked.5-7 leaves.
2-6(7)large flowers,hood veined dark purple,crimson-lilac-grey outside,dark red inside.

Flowering season: March-April(May)often early.

Habitat: Full sun on dry to moist,often alkaline subtrates.Short poor grassland,coastal garrigue,terraces and olive groves upto 300m

Bonjour Anita et Mike,
Agréable composition dans laquelle les sujets sont bien mis en valeur par la finesse des détails et la délicatesse des couleurs, mais, vraisemblablement à cause de l'éclaire, souffrent du manque de contraste.
