About this shot:
WILD GROUND ORCHID,
I don't know the ID of this specie.
I find it in the 'MAGREDI' of Cellina River (PN, Italy),
a semi-desertic area with low vegetation and unusual micro-climate.
'MAGREDI' it's one of the best place in Italy for wild ground-orchid.
May and June are the best time to spot them.

This is really a striking orchid and lovely presented photo. I have a "thing" about the colour purple, and this one caught my eye.
