Distribuzione: Europa Occidentale, Russia, area temperata fino in Giappone. In Sicilia vola fin sulle Madonie, Nebrodi ed Etna.

Descrizione: A.A. 18-20 mm; ali di colore fulvo- brunastro con macchie e disegni caratteristici del genere.

Biologia: Questa farfalla frequenta i piccoli pascoli fioriti del livello del mare fino ad altitudini moderate in una o due generazioni all’anno a seconda delle condizioni climatiche. I bruchi si nutrono di diverse specie di piantagioni.

Quelle adorable petite Melitaea que je découvre en parcourant ta galerie! Très beau petit tableau avec une netteté parfaite sur le paplillon et un bel arrière-plan. Eventuellement tu aurais pu décentrer un petit peu le sujet principal.
