Callistemon...from Greek kalos (beautiful) and stemon (stamens); citrinus...from Latin citrinus (lemon), referring to the scent of the leaves. It originates from Australia and in Italy is known as the "plume of the carabiniere (italian military police)" that is the decoration of their dress uniform hat, looking very similar to this flower.
