Stauropus fagi (Linnaeus, 1758)
Wingspan 45-60 mm.
This unassuming species gets its English name not from the adult moth, but from the remarkable crustacean-like appearance of the caterpillar.
It is mainly distributed in the southern part of Britain, occupying woodland habitats, but is not especially common.
The larvae live on the leaves of beech (Fagus), oak (Quercus), and several other trees. |

Good composition, ideal BG colour. Little too much noise. I did WS with denoising.

Gran captura de este pequeño insecto Paolo.
Excelente POV con el detalle de su mirada que se aprecia perfectamente.
Buena agudeza, suave colorido y atinado encuadre.
Interesante nota tambien.
Great capture of this small insect Paolo.
Excellent POV with the detail of its glance that is appraised perfectly.
Good sharpness, smooth colorful and accurate frame.
Interesting note also.
Paolo, Great capture with the eye "peek" a plus. Agree also that it has good sharpness. I don't see your F stop or shutter-speed??? An EV step-down would've helped here to lessen the hot-spots topside. Thanx for posting!!

Excellent shot, the details are superb. The only minor critisism is the slight overexposure on the upper edges. Well done.
