Vanessa cardui, Painted Lady

This large, flamboyant Nymphalid butterfly is well known, with lots of images on TN. So there is nothing new about this post, but I thought that the lighting gave a particularly good rendition of the veins on the underside of the wings, especially the hindwing.

I have tried to reduce the impact of the background by using the Photoshop Blur tool to remove noise and jpg artifacts. Naturally, the image is also cropped and resized. It was hand-held using natural sunlight.
