Serapias nurrica Corrias

Tubers: 2 spherical; Stem: 20-35 cm tall, with 2 basal scale leaves and 6-8 linear-lanceolate foliage leaves 10-18 long and 0,8-1,6 cm wide; Inflorence: 5-8 flowerd, short and dense; Bracts: shorter than the steeply erect sepal hood; Sepals: 23-26 mm long and 5-7 mm wide, dull liliac outside, brownish-red veins inside; Lateral Petals: 20-24 mm long and 5,5-6,5 mm wide; Lip: 25-30 mm long with 2 spreading purple callosities at the base; hypochile 11-13 mm long and 15-18 mm broad, base truncate, side lobes dull liliac, upright and enclosed whitin the hood; epichile ovate-lanceolate, 14-18 mm long, 5,5-7,5 mm wide at first, widening to 7-10 mm in the centre, pointed, held upright, vertically or at an angle, moderately hairy at the base, 2-coloured with a brownish-red centre and a narrow, dull liliac border.
Garrigue; near the coast; on dry soils over various types of rock (but not limestone), up to about 1000 m.

Flowering season: April - June.

Bonjour Anita,
Quelle chance ! C'est une espèce très rare, absente du continent, qui n'est présente en France qu'en quelques points de Corse. Très amateur de Serapias, j'espère la voir un jour. La Sardaigne constitue un secteur important pour sa distribution. Est-ce que tu l'as trouvée facilement et abondamment?

I love looking at these exotic flowers.I always have fun seeing things in them.This one looks like a swan with it's big beak open.The focus is very good with lots of sharp details.The lighting is well managed with natural colours.TFS
