[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The sambucina is quite a robust but squat plant,it has a scent of elder and the flowers are either yellow or purple.The centre yellow spotted red.There is an intermediate form called zimmermanii with salmon-pink flowers which is quite rare.I will make this one of my next postings.It grows upto 10-30(45)cm tall.
Its flowering times are(March)April-July.
It grows on calcareous to slightly acidic dry to damp subtrates.Short,poor grasslands,meadows,mountain pastures,open woodland,mostly montane upto 2600m
