Species information
T. lineola likes the open land and is a busy visitor of flowers. Flight period in Europe is from June to August in one generation. The caterpillars feed on several grass species.
General distribution of T. lineola: North Africa, Europe and Asia, eastwards to the Amur-region.
Thymelicus lineola is distinguished from the related species T. sylvestris by the antenna tip which is black or orange brown, respectively.

Location
- North-Italian Alps, lower Martell-Valley
- Altitude: about 1200m
- open flower-rich land

Conditions
- Bright natural sunlight (allowing for f/16) and
- ISO 200
- no tri-/monopod
