nice image of this butterfly using backlight. a bit more of the flower would have been better. the butterfly is amazingly beautiful as the effect of light (rim light) is admirable. the green patch in the background is little annoying but it cann't be avoided.TFS.

I'd rather say it is Coenonympha pamphilus, but as I am not 'sapientissimi', I hope that any of our learned friends can tell you better :). The shot is really fantastic. I like a lot the light, focus, DOF, bg and composition.

Back-lit subjects are not easy to shoot but your picture belies that assumption in this lovely capture of a pretty butterfly, Silvio.
I get to see all the nice details on the butterfly's wings, both upper and lower.
The light filtering through them and making them trnasparent is the most appealing aspect of this well captured image.
