Wonderful macro capture of the adorable butterfly!
The colors of the flowers and details on the body of the butterfly, are very well shown. The sharpness and POV are perfect with nice use of the daylight. I like the textures on the wings of this solo beauty. Color contrast between the butterfly and the flowers, is simply awesome. The blurred BG is nice too.

Hi Silvio. Once again a beautiful butterfly . Taken with a top POV so we can see all of the wing markings and fine detail. I like the blue flower. The butterflies seem to like it. well done TFS.

A very fine capture of this Erebia species and the WS shots are good too.
I know little about E. neoridas and if it varies with the number of eye-markings on the forewing then your friend on the Italian Entomological Forum could be right, otherwise it looks similar to E. aethiops without the toothed markings round the edge. Batu is our Erebia expert: he should know.
The quality and composition with the globe thistle flowers of this shot is great.

thank you for posting this picture of an Erebia species. I see that there is some confusion about the identity.
It is clearly not Erebia aethiops but it is also not Erebia neoridas which of course is late on the wing.
The form of the red-brown wing markings is not compatible with neoridas.
Instead, this is a female of Erebia meolans, a species which is rather variable with respect
to the colour pattern. Specimens from Italy (except higher alpine regions) and from Spain show this
more fiery pattern like on your picture.
The plant is Eryngium amethystinum.

Me encanta esta foto, como siempre la mariposa está fotografias con hermosos colores y perfectos detalles. Lo mas sorprendente de la foto, es el entramado de líneas que producen las flors del fondo, le dan un carácter excepcional.

la discussione su questa erebia è stata già sufficientemente ampia e certamente non sono in grado di dare un giudizio competente, visto che non sono un esperto e tantomeno di questo genere di farfalle, esprimo semplicemente il parere che, esclusa aethiops per una questione di areale, secondo me potrebbe essere sia neoridas che meolans, anche se per periodo di volo (anche questo non costituisce una verità assoluta essendo legato all'andamento climatico e alla posizione geografica), vista la freschezza del soggetto, è più compatibile neoridas, ma di fronte all'esperienza e alla sicurezza, dovuta a specifiche e competenti conoscenze acquisite, penso che sia più attendibile l'autorevole opinione di Peter.
Le immagini sono tutte di ottima qualità e in questa è piacevolissima la composizione con i bellissimi fiori.
