A remarkably late specimen of H. fagi that is understandably old and worn well taken from a fine POV with excellent sharpness and lighting against a contrasting dark BG. These Hipparchia species do rely a lot on camouflage for their survival.

Hi Silvio. A good side view so we can see all of the closed wing markings. Which you have taken with fine detail and such natural colours. It blends in well with the rocks but stands out from the dark BG. well done TFS.
