Questa la dedico a tutti gli amici che con grande affetto hanno festeggiato ieri con me i miei tre anni su TN, grazie anche a tutti quelli che mi hanno seguito nel passato e che ora non sono più su TN, da tutti ho appreso qualcosa ed i vostri consigli ed il vostro esempio sono stati per me fondamentali

Zygaena filipendulae


Le Zigenidi (Zygaenidae Latreille, 1809 ) sono una famiglia di insetti dell'ordine dei Lepidotteri. Comprendono circa 800 specie mondiali.

Pur essendo delle falene, hanno abitudini diurne. Il volo è piuttosto lento, le antenne claviformi, talvolta bipettinate nei maschi delle Procridinae. L'apertura alare è in genere di 3-4 cm.

L'aspetto è di una lucentezza metallica. Nelle Zygaeninae prevalgono i colori blu o nero con macchie sgargianti di colore bianco, rosso o giallo. Nelle Procridinae dominano invece il verde o l'azzurro, a tinta unita.
Le Chalcosiinae sono rappresentate in Europa dall'unica specie Aglaope infausta, una piccola farfalla di colore grigio e rosa, ma molte specie dell'Asia sudorientale hanno ali ampie e colori vivaci che ricordano le farfalle diurne o le Arctiidae.
I colori brillanti sono aposematici, cioè rappresentano un avvertimento per i predatori, che le Zigenidi sono disgustose: infatti contengono sostanze tossiche in tutti gli stadi del loro ciclo vitale. Spesso queste colorazioni sono simili a quelle di altre specie aposematiche appartenenti a famiglie filogeneticamente anche lontane, come le Arctiidae, o addirittura ad altri ordini di insetti (mimetismo mülleriano).

Il bruco è generalmente giallo o giallo verdastro, con macchie nere e/o bianche, e di forma tozza.

Zygaena (FABRICIUS) è l'unico genere paleartico della sottofamiglia delle Zygaeninae e comprende 96 specie. Altri 8 generi, ritenuti più primitivi e costituiti in tutto da 23 specie, sono diffusi nelle regioni afrotropicale e orientale.

Le Zygaena si sviluppano prevalentemente su Leguminose, ad esempio Coronilla varia, (sottogeneri Zygaena e Agrumenia) o su Ombrellifere (sottogenere Mesembrynus), mentre le Procridinae presentano una maggiore varietà di piante alimentari.

Gli ambienti dove si possono osservare sono diversi: dai prati fioriti, ai fossati ed infine sui fiori di campo.
Le larve (bruchi) di questa specie prediligono cibarsi di trifoglio, erba medica e piante di leguminose. Oggi con l'uso di insetticidi vari, da parte degli agricoltori, per preservare l'incolumità di di queste piante, queste larve vengono distrutte tutte, quindi sarà difficile rinvenirle nei campi coltivati.
Per vedere i bruchi sul Trifoglio selvatico o sulla Veccia, si deve andare nelle zone incolte o nei pascoli montani in primavera.
In autunno si possono notare i bozzoli prodotti dal bruco stesso, collocati in alto sugli steli delle graminacee selvatiche, sono duri e di colore giallastri, facili da identificare.
L'esemplare della foto, Zygaena filipendulae, mostra in modo chiaro le macchie rosse disposte a due a due sulle ali anteriori. Quelle vicine all'attaccatura delle ali sono allungate, mentre le altre sono rotondeggianti. Alcune volte queste ultime si possono notare fuse assieme. Le ali posteriori si presentano di colore rosso con margine nero a mo' di cornice. Il dimorfismo sessuale è lieve e riguarda, oltre ai consueti caratteri anatomici, le dimensioni, che sono maggiori nella femmina.
Il corpo di questo lepidottero ha dei colori metallici bellissimi tendenti al blu scuro. Le antenne terminano con una clava provvista di denti "Frenulum".
Queste falene hanno un volo particolare, muovono velocemente le ali, ma questo non consente loro di volare velocemente anzi, sembrano trasportate dal vento come piccole foglie autunnali.

Ciao Silvio. vediamo se riesco ad essere il primo a commentare la rossonera........ Differentemente dai campi di calcio, almeno nelle macro, questi colori risaltano alla grande. Ottima lucue e profondità. Un segno meno (virtuale) per il rilfesso azzurro (fantastico) Bella compo.

You start your fourth year on TN with a superb capture of a fresh specimen of Z. filipendulae. I especially like the POV and the half open wing pose, iaken with excellent sharpness and DOF against a fine neutral BG and set in a pleasing composition.

queste zigene sono apparentemente facili da fotografare in quanto ti lasciano tutto il tempo che ti serve, ma nonostante ciò è difficilissimo ricavarne delle immagini perfette, sembra che l'autofocus venga quasi sempre ingannato dai riflessi, te la sei cavata egregiamente con dei colori meravigliosi e una bella postura dell'insetto.
