This is a very clear and sharp image. Great colors to go along with it! Goodness, the more i see caterpillars, the more i'm wondering how much more i don't know about nature! thanks for sharing. A pity you don't know what this is. I tried to look it up, in vain.

Wow, what a great shot of this caterpillar ! i think it is a Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) but I'm not sure about it. Everything is wonderful here, the colors, the details, the composition, the POV, the DOF and BG... A stunning shot, really. I love it. Very well done !

Excellent close-up. Outstanding details and colours of the insect. Surprising transition from green colour of the BG to yellow-green and grey colours. Blurriness of the BG is great and expressive. Perfect work. Bravo and TFS.

Hi Franco,
excellent detailed close up work. Good vibrant colour and nice PoV. I think I would have cropped out the light patch of sky at the top of the image, this would move the caterpillar up in the frame off the center, leading to a stronger composition of the image.

Nice capture. You can update your note. This is the caterpillar of Papilio machao. they feed on carots. If you bother them a 5mm stinky fork will appear above their head.
