Descrizione - Il Porciglione ha dimensioni medio-piccole, becco piů lungo della testa, assottigliato e leggermente curvato all'apice, coda stretta e arrotondata, tarsi abbastanza lunghi. Il piumaggio in entrambi i sessi č di color bruno-olivastro a strisce nere nelle parti superiori, grigio-ardesia ai lati del capo, collo e petto, fianchi barrati di bianco e nero, sottocoda biancastro, zampe marroni o tendenti all'olivastro, becco rosso. In volo si riconosce per il volo piuttosto debole a zampe pendenti, il lungo becco rosso e il sottocoda biancastro. Lunghezza cm 26-29, peso gr 90-120.
