Nella media valle del Tevere, tra il ponte di Montorso e la diga di Meana, in corrispondenza della confluenza del torrente Farfa, si estende su un'area di 700 ettari una tra le più interessanti zone umide del Lazio, la Riserva Naturale Regionale Tevere Farfa. La riserva si colloca per le sue caratteristiche tra le "zone umide di interesse internazionale" indicate dalla Convenzione Internazionale di Ramsar del mese di febbraio del 1971. Questa area protetta è stata istituita nel 1977 in base alla legge regionale sui Parchi e Riserve ed è gestita da un consorzio che comprende i comuni di Nazzano e Torrita Tiberina. Le particolarità dell'ambiente sono legate al bacino lacustre creato dallo sbarramento artificiale del corso del Tevere, cioè alla realizzazione di una diga progettata dall'ENEL per alimentare i generatori di una piccola centrale idroelettrica. L'area di maggiore impaludamento, il cui cuore corrisponde alla confluenza del Farfa ne l corso del Tevere, ed i terreni circostanti costituiscono il territorio della riserva e la situazione ambientale è fortemente caratterizzata dalla presenza di ampi specchi d'acqua a lento corso o stagnante.

Hello Giorgio,
a very stunning landscape of great meandering river and its surroundings. Excellent composition nd point of view. The foreground of yellow tree give a good impact to the shot and a very impressive panorama.
