Just what I need on a misty day like today when colours are all grey! This is a beautiful capture of the Chalkhill Blue, a butterfly we've seen in Dorset, England where it is very rare. I love its wonderful colour.

Hello Peter!
Nice picture of another interesting Lycaenidae butterfly species from you. As always the note is very informative and in general the picture is very good. The only thing I would like to change a little is POV - presently we can see upper side of only 1 wing and I believe that both would be better :) (of course I know that both are coloured in the some way :>)
Anyway, I still like this presentation.

Amother very good macro shot from you, one that presents this charming butterfly in such a good contrast with everything around it.
The details on it are excellent and very sharp while the DOF of your shot is well managed - creating a lovely bokeh in the BG with leaving only the front wing a bit out of focus.
The exposure is nicely managed, too and the colors are all well saturated.

I love those ringlets alongside the white fringe of the hind wing of this lovely blue butterfly, Peter.
An immaculate shot with perfect focus on the wing facing the camera.
