Andean Goose (Chloephaga melanoptera) has an artistic beuty.
It is resident of the high plains (altiplano) of the Andes, 3000-4000m amsl. Its habitat includes grasslands, bogs, lakes and marshes. Nevertheless it is largely terrestrial and avoids swimming except in emergencies.
The Andean Goose is a grazing species, eating various grasses.
It nests on the ground in a bare scrape near water, laying 6-10 eggs. It is territorial in the breeding season, but otherwise forms small flocks.
The female (left) is similar to the male, but is smaller. |

nice pic, TFS Ori
G'day yedidia
Nice POV, Lighting is good as well as detail although the extra sharponing has given the affect of extra noise
