This is a close view of the skipper
- Thymelicus lineola
- family: Hesperiidae
German: Schwarzkolbiger Braundickkopffalter

Species information
T. lineola likes the open land and is a busy visitor of flowers.
Flight period is from June to August in one generation.
The caterpillars feed on several grass species.
General distribution of T. lineola: North Africa, Europe and Asia,
eastwards to the Amur-region.

Thymelicus sylvestris looks very similar to lineola but can be distinguished
from the latter by the orange-brown antenna tip which is black in T. lineola.

Location: North Italian Alps, Alto Adige, Gampen-Pass, St. Felix

Conditions
- Natural light
- ISO 400
- no tri-/monopod
It was not easy to tkae a sharp picture of the specimen because the grass stipe moved back and forth due to slight wind.

splendido primo piano di questo T. lineola.
L'esemplare si staglia netto sullo sfondo uniforme e, grazie alla luce diffusa, si possono osservare i piů piccoli dettagli nella venatura alare e nella pubescenza.
La disposizione obliqua rende ancora piů piacevole questa magnifica foto.
