Different fritillary butterflies inhabit alpine meadows and largely contribute to the entomological attractivity of these places.
The species shown here is
- Boloria titania (= Clossiana titania)
- family: Nymphalidae

which has a very characteristic underside wing pattern.

Locality: North Italian Alps, Val Ultimo, open flower-rich land on the way to Kornigl-Mountain, approx. altitude 1800 m

B. titania has a quite distinct distribution range. In Europe it is found in the central Alps, in the French Central Massive, Poland and southern Finland. It extends eastwards throughout Asia to Siberia, Mongolia and North Korea. Furthermore, ic occurs in North America.

What an attractive capture of this pretty butterfly sitting atop a pink flower, Peter!
The POV is so perfect every detail and colour on the wings is crystal clear and a pleasure to look at.

Muy hermosos colores de la Mariposa. Finos detalles se aprecian en sus alas bien abiertas, mostrando sus atributos. Alta nitidez y exelente pose.

very nice shot. I think you kept the lens plane a little tilted to get a little of the flower. Which is artistically very pleasing. Though I would have liked the lens to be plane || to the wings.

herrlich wie dieser Schmetterling seine Fluegel fuer uns ausstreckt. Somit koennen wir ihn in seinber ganzen Pracht bewundern. Super Aufnahme, herrlich diese Farben und super Schaerfe. Kann kaum erwarten bis wir wieder ein paar Falter im Garten finden.

un ottimo primo piano di B. titania, con la superficie alare tutta perfettamente a fuoco.
In questa specie mi colpisce particolarmente la variabilità nell'estensione delle macchie nere sulle ali anteriori.
Nel tuo esemplare esse sono molto estese, se confrontate, per esempio, con quello da me postato qui.
