Ophrys apulica endemic to Puglia.One of numerous plants growing together showing white sepals.
15-35(55)cm tall with 3-8(14)large flowers.
Flowering season:(March)April-May
Habitat:Full sun to mid-shade on dry to calcareous subtrates.Short grassland,abandoned cultivation,garigue,scrub,and open woodland up to 900 asl.

Hello Anita,
Nice to see you back again and with a fine fresh capture from Italy! This is a beautiful bunch of Ophrys in a pretty meadow. I like its colours and details are very sharp. A lovely summer composition!

Lovely Ophrys, not unlike our Ophrys holosericea, but with white petals.

je ne connais les pouilles qu'en septembre, lorsque les pelouses et garrigues sont totalement desséchées. Tu as du faire de splendides découvertes au printemps, comme ce très bel ophrys.
