It is always wonderful to see a fellow Nikon user. And to see you use your camera so well. A fine choice of lens as well. I am short on lens...I have too many cameras...well I depend on them for my news service and other things, but two, the D50 and the Fuji both accept this lens you used so well here...unfortunately the price is a bit out of my range. I am not implying that you are rich by any means....only that it is a good combination of camera, lens and user! Well seen and well noted!

Very nice look to this Black-crowed Night-Heron Maurizio. The format you've selected for this portrait of this bird works very well. The stare is incredible, with that awesome orange eye. Very good detail seen on the foliage with a great neutral background to help show off the bird.

This is an impressive portrait, really! What a beauty! Its eye is amazing, so red... Details, exposure and composition couldn't be better! I might have removed noise on the background but this is minor nit. The bird looks so lively on my screen! Congrats!

I might've used a light amount of NR BG, and removed those small sensor spots I see.

Superb portrait work I would wish to have so nice shots too. Terrific lights and colours. You have shown all attractive details of the bird perfectly. Every feather, eye, beak and even state of mood are reflected precisely. Composition and sharpness/blurriness of the image are spot on too. Bravo. Well done.

Hi Maurizio

A lovely portrait of this deeply pensive bird like only a Heron can be. Frozen, unmovable for extended periods of time, and then the explosion of speed and agility when they trigger to catch their prey.

That orange eye is something special. The details are fine and the darkish water surface as BG worked well to isolate and compliment the subject. The exposure was spot-on to snatch some great light on the bird.
