Agosto 2006. Gita in gommone con amici.
Sulla costa orientale della Sardegna, facendo tappa ad Arbatax, la frazione di Tortolì, il cui porto è collegato a Genova e a Civitavecchia, ecco spiccare scogli di roccia rossa, simili a gruppi dolomitici in miniatura, coperti di una strana neve bianca.
Poi la scoperta: era guano di cormorano, come ci testimoniavano gli amici nascosti sul granito rosso...

Spero che il tentativo di composizione, Vi possa piacere.

Arbatax è nota soprattutto per le formazioni di rocce rosse che rendono unico il paesaggio e per lo spettacolare scoglio dell'Ogliastra, dalle cui guglie rosse centinaia di cormorani spiccano il volo per tuffarsi nelle pescosissime acque del mare antistante.

Hi Marco,
A nice capture of these cormorants. Very good natural scenery with lovely composition. But I don't like the inset here as it is spoiling the beautiful scenery work. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Ciao Marco,
the interesting and very well executed photography of the Arbatax promontory is somewhat spoiled by the inset picture of the cormorants.; I would have shown the birds in the workshop section. Still, you really make me want to see Sardegna!

A fine capture of this rock, obviously a popular place among the birds!
Sharp fine details and good colour reproduction and a well composed presentation...
Personally I would drop the close-up here as it disturbs the composition a bit and adds nothing much to what we can see in the main image!

At first I didn't see the birds, and I thought - wow, what a beautiful place ! Then I noticed the Cormorans, who make this picture even better. Nice idea to add a close-up, but on the other hand I think it is a bit disturbing, because it would have been nice to see the open sky, it would have added to the beauty of the landscape. Just my humble opinion, though. Your picture is great as it is. Very well done !
