Metamorfosi
The larva, which is about to change, it begins to leave the water for periods of time always longer breathing gradually through the stigmas chest and finally comes out and finally climbs on a support.
Here starts the flickering, similar in all species, with the drying of the cuticle that, exposed to air, breaks dorsally to the chest, so it appears at first the head, followed by the chest with his legs, and finally , from the first abdominal segments.
Once freed from the old cuticle begins to stretch its wings, which were folded in pteroteche, relax the abdomen completely, reaching its final size.
Throughout the period of metamorphosis lasted for a few minutes to about two hours. Generally takes place in the early hours of the day although in some species occurs at night.

Metamorfosi

Hi Sergio. This is a fine picture showing the dragonfly leaving the larva. It will be a time now to pump up the wings. and to warm up in the sun. This is a fine side view so we cansee both so well with good detail and natural colours. well done TFS.

Hi Sergio,
A nice capture of this metamorphosis phenomena of dragonflies. Very good sharp details and a lovely composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Buona cattura amico Sergio

Buon lavoro, saluti e felici Domenica,

Jesús

Ciao Sergio,
Grazie e complimenti
Ciao Maurizio
