Birch bark is fascinating. The first watercolor I ever did that actually looked like something recognizable was a birch tree.

Just a hint so you get more responses - put a note with your photo about the subject. Just an interesting tidbit about the birch tree or something about the photographic method you used. Seems folks like that sort of thing.
This is a nice composition - I always like the 3/4 look (I mention it all the time in my critiques.)
