First Large Tortoiseshell in this year.This rare butterfy I found in Neries region park.
The large tortoiseshell is widespread in Europe and although not normally common is sufficiently conspicuous to be a fairly regular find.
Nymphalis polychloros
Family: Nymphalidae.
Flight Time: March/June, June/July (Hibernates).
Size: 50-63mm
Altitude: 0-1700m |
