Common blues

I found this Common blues couple at first.
The Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus) is a small butterfly in the family Lycaenidae.
It is common throughout Europe, often in meadows or open, hilly areas. Its wingspan is 3 to 3.5 cm. The wings or the male are iridescent blue with a white fringe. The female is usually brown with orange spots on the outer edges of the wing. In some areas the females have a blue coloration to the wings. The undersides of both sexes have a pattern of white, black and orange spots.
Crop, sharpened, resized to 800 pixels for the site. |
