The Brimstone butterfy in the summer sunshine.
This is a very common butterfly and one of the earliest in spring. Widespread through Europe as Scandinavia, extending to Mongolia and North Africa. The Brimstone occurs in scrubby grassland, woodland, hedgerows, and open ground wherever foodplants are available in sunny positions.
