[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This moth caterpillar has been found on Sanguisorba minor (salad burnet) on a sunny October afternoon. It probably is the caterpillar of Lasiocampa quercus . When disturbed it curls up its upper part like shown her, to look more impressive. After I touched the plant where it was attached to, it relaxed again after a short while.
The sun coming from behind lightened its hair, and the built-in flash (with plastic diffuser sheet) was used here in manual mode with reduced power, to take advantage from natural light.
Slight crop, as well as level adjustment, some dust correction with stamp tool and USM filter with PP.

This is a nice and well done shot Patrick!
Focus and DOF are perfect. Backlighting is always a good choice on "hairy" subject. And your fill-in flash technique is right on the nose.

Muy interesante captura con excelente nitidez y uso de la luz disponible Patrick.
Aunque el fondo no es limpio, el DOF obtenido permite realzar la imagen del insecto.

Very interesting capture with excellent clarity and use of the light available Patrick.
Although the background is not clean, the DOF obtained allows to enhance the image of the insect.

Great shot! The catterpillar looks very charismatic with the sunlight filtering through its hair. Good pov and excellent lighting.
