a grey heron (Ardea cinerea )
It feeds in shallow water, catching fish or frogs with its long bill. Herons will also take small mammals and birds. It will often wait motionless for prey, or slowly stalk its victim.
The call is a loud croaking "fraaank".

Hello
Nice eye! A few minor problems: there is no eye contact as the heron looks in the wrong direction, the BG is a bit disturbing being too close to be out of focus, this is mainly due to an unfavorable POV.

Hello Carole although a better eye contact would be nice, However your pov was excellent for the fine detail in its back neck and wings to be visible nice focus well composed. I'm suprised this hasn't had more attention tfs rgds Necip.
