[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello friends,
This posting has a particular story, in that this butterfly; the Geranium Bronze is neither a resident species on the island and nor is it a migratory species. It seems that there has recently been an involuntary introduction of the species all over Europe, probably as eggs on imported plants. I photographed this specimen last week and was very excited about my discovery but I was told that it had been recorded for the first time [in Malta] only two months ago. Well, all in all, I consider myself lucky to have come across one of these 'illeagal immigrants'.
Shot was taken with the Raynox up front and with fill flash to compensate the narrow aperture necessary to get a decent DOF. Focussing was manual and the camera hand held.

Hello Mark,
another document of marshalli - this time from Malta. Obviously, the species spread very efficiently over south Europe in the last years. Focus on the specimen is very good but resolution/sharpness could be slightly better.
