| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Scathophaga Stercoraria - Robber flies, also called assassin flies, attack their prey in mid-air and are known to kill wasps, bees, and dragonflies. The fly catches its prey with its legs, injects nerve toxins and digestive enzymes, and sucks out the prey’s insides.
The insect is really tiny and only when I saw its awesome features on the screen did I realize it was a predator. Arecent upload by another member put me on the right track to reasearch it. |
