With the help of a recent upload by a fellow member, showing a long legged fly, I thought I had this specimen identified. Then I took a shot of another such fly [I will upload tomorrow] and seeing a completely different abdomen [with a tube-like protrusion] I fell in doubt and decided not to offer any tentative ID, so as not to mislead anyone. Help would be warmly appreciated in this respect
Thanks

A good shot,
Grain is a little to big, for me.

Hi Mark,
A colorful fly, very please to my eyes. Very good point of view. TFS

This fly has interesting striped wings, Mark. The image is sharp and clear, so some erudite pundit on these issues should be able to identify it for us.

Fantastic shot!
Indeed a great photo!
Excellent on details!
Excellent DOF!
Very good POV too!
5* and TFS!
Hi Mark,
This is a fruit fly (Tephritidae), probably Urophora quadrifasciata.
Best regards,
Dmitry
