[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As promised yesterday, I have posted a second photograph of this very small and strange fly. I had previously thought that this was a long legged fly, but when I took this shot I realized the abdomen is completely different so that I now am in doubt regards its ID.

Hi Mark
Nice full shot. That is an interesting insect, that tail is strange. Good colours and the focus is where it needs to be.
regards
Matt.

Hi, Mark:
This is one of the large fruit flies (O: Diptera, F: Tephritidae). My best estimate is a Rhagoletis species, but beyond that I'm struggling without specialised reference material. Maybe someone else can get the final ID now we've got this far? Many of these species are serious pests of fruit crops. Interesting little insect.
Regards, Nigel.

Hi Mark,
This is a very nice macro that we have here. Good POV of this strange fly that we still looking for ID.

This is a superb capture, Mark. You have delivered!
Immaculate POV, sharpness and details.

Hello Mark,
brilliant shot of that very unusual, interesting insect.
I am not so sure about the fading effect of the border - without that border the picture looks definitely outstanding to me, with excellent sharp details, perfectly managed deep colours and contrasts, and a marvellous composition.
Thank you! Best regards,
Peter
