I have taken quite a few shots of this tiny multi-coloured beetle. I believe it must be a flower beetle and I find it only on the crown daisey - The most common flower in spring in Malta.
The exact name of the beetle I don't know, maybe some kind hearted soul could help
Thanks

Hi Mark,
Your picture shows an Anthaxia lucens Küster, 1852. The species occurs in the eastern mediterranean region.
Thank you for sharing and best wishes: Nikola

Hello Mark,

superb macro with excellent colours and details on this tiny Buprestid beetle.

I do not know the exact species of that one, but I have captured a rather similar one near Vienna, also sitting on a flower - these shining pretty beetles either seem to enjoy pollen, or they are just preferring flowers as a platform for a date:

Bonjour Mark,
Une très belle macro pour cette punaise. Les couleurs sont superbes et la netteté impeccable. Cependant il commence à avoir un peu de grain ?
