I tried experimenting with a magnifying filter and got these results on a fly that happened by. I think the results exceed expectations.

Hallo Mark,
a pretty good result achieved with your magnifying filter. Colours and light are nice. Sharpness of the fly is also good but could be a bit higher (I think next time after some more experimentation).
