This shot was maded when i was trying to mount on my camera macro lens adapter. I keep in my right hand my camera and in my left hand my adapter, when this hover fly landing on my left hand. In that conditions, i focused with one finger my camera, and make this shot.
maybe it's banal, but i think, i obtained a good quality image of this fly. |

Hello Sochirca, the hoverfly is indeed very well photographed with very good details and good DOF. You did well for a one handed shot! I'm not keen on the hand in there but wel done for getting it to land on you!
The hoverfly is a male Episyrphus balteatus. They are a very friendly hoverfly. If you see one hovering it is possible to raise your finger beneath it and more often than not they will sit on your finger. Once there they have often stay, I finf that they are quite fond of having their wings stroked! Honest, try it!
Great details and sharpness Sochirca! I like this shot for its interesting content..Basically two macros in one with the lens adapter giving a closeup look at this blade of grass also..Well done.
Hi Dan,
This little hoverfly is well composed and sharp. Very nice moment you had with it. TFS.
