Czesc Radek!

Hello Radomir,
Excellent capture of this interesting cave dweller! It looks a bit like a cross between a shrimp and a spider! :-) Excellent POV, great details and nice light and colours.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Radomir,
A great illustration of this remarkable species of Cave Cricket. Not only have you managed to take the body with fine sharpness and detail, but to have a complete view of the extraordinary long legs and nearly the whole length of the antennae. great use of flash too.
Well done amy friend and thank you for sharing this fine view of this species with us.
Thia must be new for TN and if so, congratulations!
Kind regards,
Ivan

Hi Radomir,
This is a creature I have had a LOT of close contact with....perhaps not this exact species, but cave crickets nonetheless.
Over here we call them Cave Weta and there are about 60 species endemic to New Zealand.
They are classified as being in genera in Subfamily Ceuthophilinae of family Rhaphidophoridae (Wiki).
When I was exploring caves in the North Island, there were times I had to crawl through low stream passages on my back (with face out of the water and only a few cms airspace) and these things would be jumping on my face as they were startled by my light.
Sometimes there would be colonies of a hundred or more.
As you can imagine, the more squamish wouldn't appreciate it....but then, the crawl itself would be terrifying enough for them.
I'm not sure if I've posted cave weta yet (I think I have) but I photographed some recently in an old Gold mine so I'll post one for you soon.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Radomir!
I believe that postings like this one showing endemic species are particularly valuable. This enlarges our knowledge and shows us how rich the diversity of our nature is. The background of your picture does not differ much from the colours and patterns of the insect. On one hand this is spectacular, on the other hand it makes it a bit difficult to distinguish the insect. The unity of the colour tones is impressive!
Kind regards
Markus

Realmente es una toma que te pone dentro de la escena, con una ajustada iluminación aunque muy efectiva.
Un bonito trabajo.

Hi Radomir
Good to see you back here for a while. Cool shot of this cave cricket. I've seen similar in Australia but never photographed one. Not an easy capture, but you've done very well with this shot. Good sharpness. TFS
Chris
Hi Radomir.
What an attractive cricket and nice picture. Great DOF and sharpness of the entire scene. However, I have not idea what is the scenery where you have captured this creature. Once more superb flash work. My kind regards and TFS.

Hello Radomir,
A very nice presentation of this strange cricket. Excellent POV, DOF (fortunately for you the legs were not widespread) and sharpness. Good lighting and good natural colours.
Cheers,
Mariki

Cześć Radziu,
Ale potwora wstawiłeś na TN.
Zdjęcie świetne technicznie, a ponadto bardzo interesujące. Rzadko się coś takiego widzi.
Pozdrawiam
Ania
Hello Radomir,
Interesting species which seems to live in caves, pale color and long legs make them look different from other crickets. Do they go outside too?
Are the legs made to climb better on the walls?
Excellent sharpness , here the flash was very useful to show all details of this interesting creature.
Merci beaucoup!
Anne

Hello Radomir !
On the small picture I thought it was a spider, I was quite surprised when I opened the picture and saw... a grasshopper (even if this one must probably not be hopping on grass, according to your notes :-)It is an excellent picture, with sharp details on all parts of the insect, nicely composed, good POV, and you made excellent use of your flash, without over-exposing your insect. Very well done !
Valerie.
