a tree..no more need be said except how it is presented..one of my favourite subjects and shown in a mysterious and enchanting way
interesting to see a tree all on its own like this..but that makes it special
good sky control and your usual sharp tripod enhanced technique leave sharpness to itself

This scene looks very like the Ouse Washes near me (not surprising , they were constructed by a Dutch man called Van Muyden). Lovely colours and carefullu composed shot.

Hi Niek

This one is simply gorgeous!!! Much much better than the other one in my opinion!
I see that you remembered the discussion about the lower branches from your other tree photos :) You did great here and this way this oak really feels even more isolated.
The small window of good light was well speculated and the result is a splendid shot, with lovely warm light and a terrific balance of blue sky and clouds.
Very good exposure balance with the filter and an absolute brilliant composition!
A TRUE BEAUTY!

Hallo Niek,

Het is maar goed dat je die drie stieren bent tegengekomen, want anders had je waarschijnlijk dit plaatje niet geschoten. In het engels: "It is a beauty" Helder met gigantisch mooie contrastwerking, zowel in de lucht als in de achtergrond. Die eenzame boom maakt het landschap een beetje dramatisch, maar daardoor des te mooier. Ik denk dat je geduld heel erg beloond is. Groeten en tot TFS BOB

once again an excellent, well thought out composition thats really made the most of this wonderful view. I like the split of grass and flood water that makes up the foreground and you really made the most of the short window of time you had to get this. Well worth the muddy feet and the near miss you had with those bulls!

Hi Niek

I loved the note. I was walking along the river in Arundel the other week and came across some free roaming bulls who were running around. They were huge and I was over the stile in a flash :)

There is something beautiful about a bare winter tree. The light and composition here are very attractive. Great sky.

Hello Niek, I read your notes with utmost interest, I really am captivated by this nice interpretation of your picture. The picture in itself is fantastic and mastery, no doubt, but with the addition of your notes, I feel I learned some mysteries, well hidden... you're generous. And yes, the light is splendid. Your comment reminds me of the first impression I felt when I started photographing more often: the fluidity of life, all the fast passing of moments, animals, clouds, light... which you don't notice when you don't take the time to observe or take time to capture life and nature in pictures... life is movement and we feel it in your wonderful picture. Thank you!

Bulls are animals that should be treated with the utmost care indeed!
The old ok is beautifully captured, sharp fine details in the naked branches and the wonderful sky makes a fine background...
I suppose the water came after the tree, hopefully it will survive these wet environment..!

Hi Niek, your pics are postcard perfect... I am really jealous. I think landscape photos displays the real artistic skills of a photographer. This shot is incredible. I like the leave less tree against the blue sky and the contrasting green. also I like the detail on the tree trunks..almost like a marble sculpture... well done and TFS!
