A repost of this Chaffinch. Didn't do a great workshop on it the other night, so it looked a little fake. I like the colours of this one better, because they are more natural. Also a better composition. Hope you like it too!
Notes from the other post.
The Fringilla coelebs, or Chaffinch is the first bird i captured with this camera.
This bird is widespread and very familiar throughout Europe. It is the most common finch in western Europe. Its range extends into western Asia, northwestern Africa, the Canary Islands and Madeira. On Tenerife and Gran Canaria, it coexists with its sister species, the endemic Blue Chaffinch.
It uses a range of habitats, but open woodland is favoured, although it is common in gardens and on farmland. It builds its nest in a tree fork, and decorates the exterior with moss or lichen to make it less conspicuous. It lays about six eggs.
Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Aves
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Fringillidae
Genus: Fringilla
Species: F. coelebs
I found this one sitting on a brange. Maybe he was distracting me from his family. He was sitting really close, and i could take the time to take a picture.
Hope you like it, and please tell me what you think of it, and how to improve.

Hi Thijs.
Wonderful bird picture. Pose of the bird is amazing as well as the scenery at whole. Some softness of the image is not a point. I like excellent exposure and pleasant delicate colour palette. Composition is blameless. My best wishes and kind regards.
Alexei.

Hi Thijs,
I agree wiwth you I prefer this one to the first one, sharpening is necessary but exceeding actually makes the subject irreel. This image presents nice a nice variety of pastel colours.

Hello Thijs,
I can see excellent softness and yet in vivid details of this bird. Excellent shot in natural environment in a well-perched position. Good job!
