Today an flower tat are common in the Netherlands but needs wet feets. (palustrus).
It's a nbeutiful small flowering plant.
Thanks for looking and the critiques from my previous page.
I see wel that flowers here on TN less critiques get than wild or insect pictures or my fabulous fungi pictures but the orchids and other rare flowers are also comming.

Latin name - Stachys palustris

Common in damp lowland habitats.

Flower c 12-15 mm long. Plant typically 60-80 cm tall.

Skye ID: Leaves strap-shaped, very hairy, well over 3x as long as broad and the upper unstalked. Flower light or medium purple with extensive white blotches.

Other features: Lower leaves have stalks < 5 mm. Flowers in whorls of about 6 in axils of bracts which are like the leaves, becoming smaller as you go upwards.

A bristley plant with a creeping rhizome and upright stem. The plant has oblong short-stalked leaves and purple-pink flowers with white markings on
the lip. The flower whorls form a loose spike at the top of the plant. The sepals are fused to form a five toothed tube. A poultice made form this plant was once used extensively to cure wounds(including severe injuries).

Hi Gert,
Beautiful composition and warm color tones, perfect sharpness. Yes, this specie's growing on wet territories. Nice shot, tfs.
I also feel insect shots gets more comments than fungi or flowers, but I advice You to post Your fabolous fungi and plant photos without hesitation.
Have a nice weekend, László

Destacaría el formato y la luz Gert.
Realmente en Tk parece que los insectos son más apreciados :-). La explicación que das es muy interesante e instructiva.

Hello Gert,
Nice to see you back in action on TN, though I see that I am rather late in saying this.
This is a superb capture of a flowering Stachys palustris taken with almost technical perfection against an ideal OOF natural Bg, making it a great portrait of this species that is also common in the S. half of Sweden.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Lovely capture of this Stachys sp. We have 16 species of S., but not this one.

TFS. Have a nice weekend,

Ishi

The flowers of the field...surrounded by green. You glance at it gives pause for a song to rise...I can almost smell being there...photos to me are both visual, audio and have a certain odoriferous ambiance..

Hallo Gert,
