This pinetree is captured by the (west)winds for years. It's in the forests and sanddunes of south-east Friesland, national park Drents-Friese Woud.
It had frozen so there was a thin layer of ice on the small lake, which reflected the trees in the background. |

Hi Gerard.
What a fantastic image! The detail is quite striking, and it's obviously in the original image and not the illusory "sharpness" of USM.
The overall exposure is very good, adding to the contrast.
A note would be nice too :)
regards,
Sheldon (shel)
Great choice for B&W, Gerard! It seems a touch oversharpened, but otherwise lovely composition with the tree off-center.
Excellent work, Gerard. good composition, love the black and white and nice and sharp, I don't think it's over-sharpened.
A note would be nice, though, even just to tell us where it is.
Andy.
