Orchis Majalis is one of the orcids you see often in places with a wet-dry gradient. It is often seen on sandy places like the dunes but also in marshlands on the higher places.
They form hybrids with other majalis subspecies

Beautiful orchid Gerrit, shown in its natural setting, including being surrounded by thistles.

For maximum effect I would recommend that you focus more on the flowerhead. And make sure you get good sharpness. Try macro.
You can always show the entire flower, and its habitat in a supplemental WS photo, while you treat us to a zoomed in beauty!

Hallo Gerrit,

Ik was in het begin vrij actief op deze site, maar door omstandigheden heb ik al mijn foto er afgehaald, ik stond toen samen met carper binnen de top twintig.
Maar ik ben even terug en zal met een regelmaat een foto plaatsen. Bloemen zij steeds een aantrekkelijk onderwerp Gerrit, ook deze bloem in de natuur is mooi, ik moet mij even aansluiten bij de vorige schrijver, de focus ligt net naast de bloem, probeer eens te focussen op het onderwerp en de achtergrond blur te houden, dit zal een totaal ander resultaat geven. Bedankt voor uw bezoek.
