My Favorite place in Holland, where nature is still nature..

Terschelling is one of the Frisian Wadden Sea islands off the northern coast of the Netherlands that separate the Wadden Sea and the North Sea. The natural landscape arose from an elevation of the sea level after the last ice age. The rise in sea level was accompanied by a corresponding rise in fresh groundwater level and the creation of a zone parallel to the coast where peat was able to develop on a large scale. Clay and sand were deposited on this peat layer facing the sea, while the peat on the landward side spread out over the more elevated sandy areas. As a result of the flooding of the Strait of Dover, the sea current changed direction and began to run more in parallel with the coast. This gave rise to a series of low-lying dune ridges, broken by rivers flowing into the sea. Following later marine incursions, the peat behind the ridges was eroded and the ridges were divided up into smaller pieces: the Wadden Sea Islands. Terschelling is characteristic of islands in a dynamic coastal area, with erosion in some areas and deposition in others. The islands shape is also determined by the strong sea current.

Like the East Friesian Wadden Sea islands of Schiermonnikoog and Ameland, Terschelling is an elongated island which becomes narrower to the east, with villages sheltering in the dunes. In addition the island has an area of reclaimed salt marsh, hook-shaped sandbars on the western side and extensive dunes and salt marsh flats on the eastern side

In the eastern part of the island is "De Boschplaat", 'European nature reserve' since 1970. Because Terschelling borders on the Wadden Sea, which uncovers twice every 24 hours, it makes the island a favourite feeding area for (migratory) birds.

Bonjour Reina,
Ton image vient d'émerger sur mon écran. Quel beau paysage! Je comprends qu'il soit ta place favorite. Excellente composition, peut-être un tout petit manque de netteté.

Ik zal maar gelijk met de deur in huis vallen. De blauwe kleur is erg overheersend. Deze donkerblauwe kleur komt niet waarheidsgetrouw over. Zo zijn de Hollandse luchten niet. Daardoor krijg je ook een weerslag op de kleur van het water.
Ik heb zelf het idee dat je in een Fotobewerkprogramma hier een heleboel aan kunt doen.

Je compositie is natuurlijk geweldig. Mooiere landschappen dan door jou nu gefotografeerd kan ik me haast niet voorstellen. De planten op de voorgrond en daarna de baai leid je zo mooi naar de duinenrij op de achtergrond. De wolkenrij net boven de duinen doet ook zo echt Hollands aan. De notitie met uitleg over de wadden is goed. Misschien dat ik wel een kleine WS doe. Prettige dag en TFS BOB

Denk dat je dit met de Pol filter gemaakt hebt?
Ik gebruik dat ook we eens en hou er wel van.
Water is volgens mij wel te blauw, ook lijkt de horizon niet recht, hij helt iets naar links toe.
Kijk maar naar de achterste duinenrij bij het water.

Prachtig landschap
Compo en POV zijn Perfect
wat me opvalt is dat er geen watervogels te zien zijn maar die zitten waarschijnlijk aan de andere kant van de plas
Heb je voor dit shot een polarizatie filter gebruikt ?
