Idaea dimidiata / Single Dotted Wave / Vlekstipspanner / Braungewinkelter Zwergspanner / la Phalène écussonnée.

Single-dotted Wave Idaea dimidiata
(Hufnagel, 1767)
Wingspan 13-18 mm.

A rather pretty species which is found mainly in damp locations such as marshy woodland, fens and river banks.

Generally common throughout Britain, apart from Scotland, where it only occurs in the south.

Flying from June to August, the adult moths can be attracted to light.

The larvae feed from Autumn through the winter on cow parsley (Anthriscus) and burnet saxifrage (Pimpinella).

Hi Harm

Intersting use of the greyish black BG to make the specimen stand out! Good details on the moth.
