Anania verbascalis
([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Wingspan 22-26 mm.
Locally distributed in the southern half of England, this species inhabits open heathland and shingle areas.
The larvae feed mainly on wood sage (Teucrium scorodonia), overwintering in a state of diapause.
The flight period is June and July, and the species is single-brooded.

Good catch, very demonstrative of the species. I see some blurring at the low end. But it serves to assess the structure of the insect.
