I have been photographed on my second holiday to the Veluwe so another new specie for me.

Latin name - Lythria cruentaria

The Purple-barred Yellow (Lythria cruentaria) is a moth of the family Geometridae. The species can be found in Europe.

The length of the forewings is 9-13 mm. The moths fly in two or three generations from the end of April to the end of September.
The caterpillar feed on sorrel and Rumex acetosella.

The flight season refers to the Belgium and the The Netherlands. This may vary in other parts of the range

Wat een typische mot. Mooie foto. Jammer dat de vleugels niet helemaal scherp zijn. De focus op de kop is uitstekend. Aparte zachte kleuren in een prachtige compositie.
