The Scarlet Dragonfly (Crocothemis erythraea) is the European member of the dragonfly genus Crocothemis.
Description
The adult male Scarlet Dragonfly has a bright red, widened abdomen, and small amber patches at the bases of the hindwings.
Status and Distribution
The Scarlet Dragonfly is a common species in southern Europe and north Africa.
In the Netherlands usually in the south part but by heatening the surface you can see them sometimes in the middle.

Hallo Hans,
Perfecte scherpte in deze foto. Elk haartje is zichtbaar. Alleen wel zo close dat de compositie er onder lijdt. Misschien was het insect in z'n geheel beter geweest. Maar dit is persoonlijk. Mooi licht en kleuren.
